From time to time all of us have to tighten our belts. Sometimes we know why and others often remain a mystery. For those of us in the real world, we simply get by with less. The money does not go as far so we learn to make trade offs. We buy less expensive products or we cut back on the volume we purchase. That makes sense doesn't it. After all, we cannot go to our boss and say “hey give me more money" because there usually is not any more money and there is usually someone else just waiting to take our place.
You would think that government would see the same economic principle at work, but unfortunately that is not to be the case. When the budgets get tight because people are having a hard time, what does government do, they start trying to take more from those who already are struggling. Look at Georgia, they are looking at a shortfall so what is the solution. Take money from the homestead exemption by lowering the amount exempted. Just the thing to help out that struggling homeowner already worried about the next mortgage payment, groceries on the table, or that elderly couple who have already tightened there belts as far as they can go.
And for those in the medical field, the medical billing will likely get a little harder since the governor has directed Medicaid to reduce expenses by 5%. Reimbursements are already less than it costs to treat patients so where is the money coming from. Heaven forbid that the case worker should do with a little less or that the case worker do 5% more work so the work force could be reduced to make up for the difference. Governments seem to expand in good times and grow even more in hard times. Go figure!
Since the beginning of this social redistribution called war on poverty, of all the money spent to help the poor, 70% of it went into the pockets of bureaucrats! Only 30% actually made it to its intended recipients! So clearly, there is more than enough money available to help those in need, since most of the money being spent is already going to someone else.
The Wynn Group, Inc was founded by Nat Wynn in 1996 dedicated to helping physicians with medical billing and practice management by allowing them to focus on their patient while The Wynn Group focused on making sure each and every claim got paid.
