Lowest Gas Prices - Why Are Gas Prices in Some Parts of the Country Harder to Deal With Than Others?

by Jim Eberle

(July 13, 2008)

In todays’ economy, more and more often you are going to find people doing whatever they can to find the lowest gas prices in their area! Depending on where you live, the increasing cost of fuel makes it more difficult to pay those bills.

Why do I say that?

With the cost of gas hovering around the four dollar mark, it only makes sense that if you already live in a part of the country in which modest homes are going for over one million dollars and the average wage is three to four times what it is in other parts of the country, the current gas price is not going to be as bad!!

What I am saying is that demographically speaking, the rising cost of gas can be devastating! I live in central Ohio where there are not that many people making one hundred thousand dollars a year. I am talking about families in which both spouses work full time! There are parts of this country in which a secretary can make over one hundred thousand dollars a year by themselves...and more!

To expand on this, if you live in southern Ohio where there are no jobs, you are spending an arm and a leg in gas getting back and forth to your work place because you have to drive where “there is work"!

I am talking about Ohio because I am familiar with it but...this is what is occurring in “all" states! These are the areas where the rising cost of gas is going to cause crime, bankruptcy, and foreclosures all to increase.

It is within these demographic parts of the country in which help is “really" going to be needed! In time, having the lowest gas prices of around seven dollars a gallon is going to make those other parts of the country feel the pain these other people are already experiencing!
